The Aureate

The Aureate is a model that was inspired by baroque guitars, viol da gambas, and lutes. I had been sent a very nice Rubio arch-lute for repair and while researching that lute I became fascinated with the ornamentation on those instruments. My Aureate model gave me a chance to employ some of the ornamentations I was particularly fond of, like the paneled fingerboard and purfling details. It is voiced for delicate finger-style playing with an emphasis on balance and beauty.
